Spring’s range of water-based inks is formulated to be press-ready, requiring virtually no maintenance during a normal print run. However, on long print runs, jobs with a lot of stopping and starting, or when the ambient temperature is high, essential amines in the ink evaporate causing the ink to thicken and the print quality to deteriorate. To combat this, Spring offers a range of additives to keep your print quality optimal.
In general, one should use additives sparingly and avoid over-correction. We recommend pre-mixing the additive in a small volume of ink to facilitate its distribution in the ink system.

WB Additives

- 3-5%
AM-39- Anti-foam
- 1-2%
RS-3221- Slowing ink drying
- 2-5%
FLUO X-11- Reducing viscosity [FLUO only]
- 5-10% based on ink viscosity (NB: higher doses will affect color densities)
UV Additives
UV X-11- Reducing viscosity [UV inks and coatings only]
- 5-10% based on ink viscosity (NB: higher doses will affect color densities!)
